Are we all having the fun we used to have, or are we stuck in the driveway with no where to go and plenty of stuff to worry about?

Any one else aver dwell on the magnitude of the suckatude?

Well, it doesn't cost anything to run the radios. Good thing this is a two hobby forum.

This miserable economy has worn just about everyone down. Folks are still travelling but they tend to stay longer in one place rather than move around. I just got back from a 2 1/2 month trip to Colorado. Most of the folks in the park stayed at least 2 weeks longer and most had plans to go South and stay put for the winter rather than travel to other places. All said they were not spending any more money than necessary. Not many happy campers. On the plus side, there were 2 other hams in the park. The park owners were pretty lenient about antennas, so there were some pretty odd contraptions hanging around.
I'm going to be at the home QTH for a couple of months and then on to the Gulf Coast for the winter. Like everyone else, I'm hoarding my pennies. My MH holds 125 gallons of diesel and at 4 bucks a gallon, I don't want to go any further than I have to. The general feeling among the retired set is that this economy won't get better until after the 2012 elections.

My sentiments exactly, heading for Panama City on Monday and will stay there until I get tired of the place.

I don't think the economy will get better in my lifetime, I'm 70.

This is the first year using our fun finder TT, and my wife and I were only able to use it four times before gas bills and cg fees forced us to put the camper up for the winter. We sure hope next year will be better.

I recommend to figure out a way to use your TT under the current economic conditions or just sell it. Things will not get better any time soon.

We are not going as far and are keeping it parked for longer periods of time. At 11 mpg towing and the price of a fill up on the other side of $100.00, my tank has a range of a bit under 400 miles without draining the tank (38 gallons). Good thing I like to ride my recumbent trike.

I distinctly recall the president saying that things are getting better. You guys must be mistaken.

Have you ever found a politician that told the truth? I think they use RV sales as training for politicians.

We are taking the fiver out for the first time since Memorial Day. It has been a long no camping summer for us (we did have other commitments too). Filled up the truck early this week and it ONLY cost me $90.00....

I am hoping to do more camping this fall, although it will be close to home. Don't know if it will ever be better. I can't see gas prices going down. I think we will probably talk about today in the future as..."remember when gas was only $3.50 a gallon..."

At least we don't live in Europe where fuel costs are even higher!

Full-timer here, and loving life!!! We bought our RV one year ago in November and we've never been happier. Super low lot rent, free cable, free WiFi, super low utilities, etc. We've driven the RV 20 miles since we bought it, lol!

My advice: Bite the bullet, sell everything you own, learn to live with less, and enjoy your life! It has worked for us.

Maybe we'll travel when I retire in 29 years!
