Just saw a couple posts that the radio is in production.

Checked Ham Radio Outlet, it was listed as available to purchase.

OK, I'm biased, I have a 7200. It just seems to offer a lot of great features and performance at a very reasonable price.

So, I thought it was interesting it was discontinued then brought back.

I think there is a story behind this, but haven't seen any discussion about what it is.

They were a very popular radio and for good reason, simple controls (short learning curve), rugged, great filtering and DSP. I have been tempted with the 7300 and own a 7000 but the 7200 is my every day radio they still fetch same $ you could by one new for. Only draw back and not a big one no 6 meter FM.

In a review, I was rather upset about other hams not hearing me when transmitting on this model Icom. Recently, I ran across an online article that said the mic gain and mic compression had to be turned all the way up in order for the rig to transmit at full potential. So I removed it from off of the shelf and hooked it back up. Since doing as the article recommended, the rig is a pleasure to run. And the receive audio filters are sure nice to have to knock out all types of interference.
