Hi All

We are thinking of going to Dayton next year and was wondering if I could get some recommendations on where to camp. We have a 30 Ft 5th wheel and would like full hook up.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to ORR.net!

Well north of Dayton is the Wapokaneta (sp?) KOA which has full hookup and is spotlessly clean and well run. Voted 2nd best KOA in the chain.

Bound to be others closer, but that's the only one I have personal experience with.

Hand around and join the frey...some of these guys have been to Dayton.

KOA as stated above....alot of hams from the 7.272 Rag Chew attend that campground the past few years....

I saw a note somewhere that the KOA wouldn't let a fellow Ham put up a pole to rig an antenna on. He didn't say the rationale he was given, but he did say that the camp was very Ham friendly otherwise.

We camped there once, but not during Hamfest, and thought is was a great park.

Dave,

There is a KOA in Brookville, OH just off I 70. Its well kept and offers a lot to do. Be waned that it is pricey and depending on what side of the bed the owners got up on can be a pleasent stay or .......................... Tom from Dayton

PS. If your coming to Dayton the AF Museum is a must see.

Yup when we get there Jim. We travel 11 months a year and only get back at Christmas and on vacation. Kids and a bus load of grandkids there.
