I think when the heat wave breaks and Sweet Wife is settled into the new school year, we'll drag the 5th wheel down to Georgia's newest State Park, Chattahoochee Bend.

If you look here, you'll get an idea why they call it that.

I wonder if the boss will let me sneak out about noonish one Friday in September.

So where are you going anytime soon? :poke:

Staying put in Colorado for at least another month. Texas is still way too hot to go home just now. Temps in Co. are running from upper 30's at night to mid 70's daytime. Texas is 80's at night to 100's daytime. No brainer there.
I've spent a lot of time fishing the Chattahoochie river. Mostly below Columbus, around Lake Eufaula. Used to be some great bass fishing in that area. I plan to go back to that area someday and see if it's as good as I remember.
After we get back to the homestead in September, we will spend a few weeks and then make our way on down to the Gulf coast for a little salt water fishing. Did I mention that I like to fish?:D

When we aren't horse showing and want a quick get away we go to a little campground near home(about 7 miles) been going there for about the last 30 years.

At one time it was to get away from the phone and TV for the kids, pre-internet and satellite TV as far as our family was concerned. Now not so much.
I still marvel at how people that in this close proximity with thin walls and there isn't more problems than there is.

We just booked reservations at Top Sail State Park in Florida. We usually go to Grayton State Park but decided to try this one out. It is only 5 or 10 miles between the two. Top Sail has a pool (for the girls) and some other amenities that Grayton does not have (not to mention full hookups :)

We like to go when the weather starts to change and the crowds get thinner with all the kids back in school (another great reason to home school).

Looking forward to it, since we did not get to go camping one single time this summer. Too many other things going on....
