The Hurricane Watch Net will activate on Tuesday Aug 23 at 1200 ET / 1600 UTC on 14.325 MHz for the purpose of tracking Irene as it chews its way through the islands south east of Florida and makes up its mind what to do with the eastern seaboard of the United States.

If you want to hear world class net control operators running a nationwide HF emergency net, this is the place to be.

14.325 MHz

Irene is currently chewing up one of my favorite places on earth: The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Cedar Island, Ocracoke, Cape Hatteras.

Bummer. Such a lovely place.

Interesting day here at the camp in NH. Lost power for about 3 hours at 1330. Lots of rain and wind gusts about 50 mph. My G5RVjr dipole came down in the wind, parachute cord broke on one end. Have to try and reinstall it tomorrow. So far only one 5th wheel was hit by a falling tree. Couple was trapped inside until rescue crew arrived. They are doing ok, but rig is total loss. We are doing ok.

WOW...Glad the couple is OK. That's a tough one. Hope you get all of your stuff repaired soon Andy. Good luck!
