It bounces better because it's thinner? By that theory, an aluminum-foil sphere would outbounce a thicker aluminum shape such as a tea ball...

Doesn't have to be on its end, either. Just put it down on its side and spin it. A hard-boiled egg will spin, and a raw egg won't.

Just now I took two brand-new alkaline AAs (Fry's Electronics brand) out of the package. I'm discharging one of them in a West Mountain Radio CBA II computerized battery...
