Well, here's what happened to me in the last few days.

It's a bit scary to experience, especially if you are having a bout of high BP at the same time. All sorts of scary thoughts enter your mind about what might be going on.
Turns out, at least this time, there's not much to it.
I just have to keep an eye out for retinal tears.
The vitreous humor in you eye is inside a little bag, which as you age, can become detached. This can put on quite a light show inside your own head.
This is my first time through this as I have never been this old before.
Eye guy said this happens to everyone, if they live long enough. It's just a matter of what might or might not happen to the retina.
Saw the eye guy this morning and it's OK, no retinal damage. If there had been damage, they'd have patched it up with a laser. Go back in a month for another look see. And if I get another "light show" I'll go running back to the eye guy, no appointment required.
