OK, I done with the retina guy. They did decide to use the laser.

It was a somewhat unpleasant experience, something like trying to pop your eye out of it's socket with a Popsicle stick while watching some one arc weld right in front of your nose.

They patched up two tears. This will not improve vision (much, if any) but it keeps the retina from falling off the inside of the eyeball. Sort of like a series of little spot welds. Preventing further retina damage is the point. Mission accomplished.

With both eyes dilated and one rather sore, it being very bright and cold outside, my schedule calls for lunch, a little Advil and a long nap.
