Default Another newbie to the group

Good day all. I was previously logged into the forum as NevJohn acouple of weeks back, but held off adding any comments until this call arrived, which it did last Saturday. My previous call was K6YDW which I had for 54 years, but lately I have thought about getting a Vanity call, so bit the bullet and applied. This call W6ZKH was my late fathers who had it from 1946 until his passing in 1992. So now I have brought his call back from the grave, so to speak, to harrass the airwaves again, hi.

I work mostly digital modes like Olivia, Hellschrieber, MFSK and PSK, and am on usually during the daytime hours.

My bride, Connie (of 44 years) and I enjoy RV-ing when we can get away. Well, not me, I am always ready, as am retired from Telephone company in 2003, but Connie is still working part-time of only (60 hrs a week) still until hopefully soon she can back out all the way. By the way, she doesnt like me getting a new call, as she cant remember this one, hi. She was even talking of getting her Tech ticket and then in 2 years apply for the K6YDW, yeah right!!

Anyway, have enjoyed looking over the back threads dealing with RV antenna setups. I have a mount on my ladder for the HF whips.

Again, thanks for letting me join this group, and hopefully someday in our travels we can have an eyeball.

Thumbs up

John I can't think of a better tribute to your Dad. As I stated in some earlier PM's, good to have you on ORR. I'm looking forward to your posts as I'm sure everyone else is. A small group here but growing and a good bunch of guys. When you put these two interests together, you naturally get a good combination.

Welcome to ORR.net! We actually like new people on our boards, contrary to what you may have experienced on other forum sites!

Jump right in and join the fray. We have a whole bunch of friendly helpful folks here.
