Default Your first Mickey D...

The first McDonald's I ever went to looked just like this one. Did yours?

I have no idea why the cars are in such disarray in the street, but I suspect that's the reason for the picture, not the hamburger stand.

Maybe it's a Ford ad. Two 1958 Fords (one may be a 1957), a 1955 Ford, a 1956 Chevy wagon, a 1956 Ford truck, and I think that's a 1953 Buick facing us in the distance ...

Looks like he turn in front of some one and they plowed into the right front. I kind of remember the first Mc D's being in PA.

I think my uncle had a car like the one sitting sideways in the street. He bought it when he came home from Korea. Wow that brings back memories.

Wow.

Regarding the car sideways in the street,, Expand your vision (Enlarge the photo) and you will see a second car just behind it and to the viewer's left of that 2nd car, on the far side of the sideways car are two gentelmen very likely exchanging info, You see the sideways care attempted a left turn in the face of oncoming traffic (legal term which loosly translates in street talk as a "NO NO", or in this case possibly an OH S***!) and an accident resulted.

So that is why the car is sideways in the lane. it's T-Boned.

The first McD's I remember in the '50s looked very much like the one pictured here. It was and still is located in the same spot on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT about 3 miles from the ARRL HQ. There was always a car 'parade' going around it on week ends and many a drag race challenge was made in the parking lot. It has been upgraded and looks different today.

I can remember when McDonalds came to my home town. I was about 12 or 13. First fast food chain to come to Ruidoso, NM. We were all so excited!
