Default KI6DIU intro

I am a relatively new Ham though many years ago that is what lead me to an eventual career as an electronics engineer doing embedded software development. I got my license about two years ago because I was involved with the Red Cross ECRV.

As a kid I found the ARRL Handbook at the local library but a trip to Des Moines or Saint Louis was not possible. The military, school, and a family pushed other than occasional thoughts of an amateur license out of my mind. Now that I am retired there is time to look to those things I have always wanted to do.

I am a somewhat full timer. I spend winters in Southern California and the rest of the time where ever. Currently the trailer is on an organic vegetable farm in Hollister, CA and I will be there in a week or so for a little kayaking at Moss Landing and helping out by fixing tractors. Sometime in May I will be heading for the Missouri Ozarks for a little fishing, kayaking, helping repair an A-Frame house, and drinking some excellent craft beer. Sometime in the fall I plan to be in Asheville NC for some kayaking, helping my son get his license, and drinking some excellent craft beer. By late fall I will be back in Southern California home of Stone Brewing.
