Default Still have a real camera?

I never parted with my Nikons. Or my 645 format Mamiya.

If I cleaned all the junk out I could bring the darkroom back to life.

That's a start.

I still have my 35mm camera also, telephoto lens, wide angel lens, tripod, all the other goodies. Can't remember what brand it is, Olympus I think. I don't throw anything away.

Two Fuji S2 Pro, one Nikon D7100. Never use the Fujis any more; the Nikon makes the Fujis seem -- well -- quaint.

But I sold the Canon F2 35mms years ago, on eBay.

Most folks nowadays take wretched pictures with cell phone cameras. They deserve the horrible-quality images they get. Sort of like riding a pogo stick for the daily commute.

I still have my Sony digital and maybe the Pentax 35mm as well as a couple of video cameras. I also have some older ones dating back to 1910ish. The Kodak Pony and the one video camera were my dad's.

The first 35mm I ever used was an Argus C-3. Wonderful camera -- it taught me a lot. Then a high-school friend got a Mercury half-frame 35mm with the world's first 1/1000-second focal-plane shutter. We nearly wore that thing out taking action photos.

Now my unremarkable-seeming Nikon has a shutter that goes to 1/8000, and of course many other features unheard of when the Mercury was the latest and greatest.

There is progress.

Ordered a Nikon D750 body (see review) from B&H today. It's supposed to arrive Friday. Can't wait. Looks just like my D7100 and has the same number of pixels (24.3 million), but (1) is FX (full-frame) and not DX; (2) has incredibly better autofocus (best in the industry); shoots much faster (good for Judo tournaments); sees in the dark (fantastic in low light, moonlight for example); and all the controls are essentially identical to those on the D7100 so I already know how to operate it. Uses the same battery, too, and the same memory cards.

All my lenses except one are FX lenses, so they'll work on the D750 just as well as on the D7100. Same for several other accessories.

Come on, Friday!
