Default Hello from the Snow Belt (formerly the Rust Belt)

Hello all,

Jeff here, K8INA, formerly WB8QYT, formerly WN8QYT. The XYL is KA8INA so when the K8 call came available, I jumped on it so we would sort of match. Not doing much lately. Waiting to sign papers for home sale, bought a Holiday Rambler Class A and plan on full timing it. Zero ham gear at the moment, still wobbling between QRP (Elecraft KX3) and QRO (IC7300). But, eventually will pull the pin and decide.
I retired in 2002 after 25 years as a Police Motorcycle Officer, the XYL in 2005 from the local school district. Medical is paid for, house is sold, $10K still owed on MH so time to live the dream. At 70 yrs old, time for some fun.

So see you on the road and on the air. Be safe...

Welcome aboard, Jeff.

Feel free to ask all sorts of MH vs radio questions. Some of the old guys on here been doing it for years.

I have just recently set a fixed retirement date. Unfortunately it's about 7 years away.

Jeff i have been using the IC-7300 for about a year primarily with AF MARS at the home QTH. It is an awesome unit and I would highly recommend it. PWR easily adjustable. Couple it with a tilt over verticle or a screwdrive, a tuner, pwr etc and you have a QRP or a 100 watt rig. I intent to put another one in our TT, when I get the $. Enjoy
