Default Washing Machine Reincarnated as Fire Pit

Saw one of these in a state park. The family had like 8 kids and from the looks of their truck and travel trailer they were on a budget. They had one of these rolling around in back of the truck, set it up and cooked fish over it.

It seemed to keep the little ones from playing in the fire. I've had a trip nearly ruined by children putting all sorts of crap in their daddy's fire. (While daddy did nothing to stop it)

Probably works better in a fixed installation like this one.

Those are fairly common among the folks I hand out with, Personally I don't like 'em for personal use (Too big) but for a larger group (We had over 40 Rigs and 80 people at one point) they are downright handy.

A friend has one and its perfect for large groups. He bought a large round bbq grille (just the grille surface) and puts it over the tub when the coals are hot. Will cook a lot of stuff very quickly. The holes in the tub create a chimny effect and boy do those coals get hot.

Only down thing is it is very big and takes a lot of space to transport!
