Default Some Iphone/Ipad apps - free

Ran across 3 apps for and IPhone or Ipad. I believe they are all free. Kind of interesting. One is a DX cluster app, another gives you air distance to the contact you are in a QSO with, and another is a logging app. I didn't download any of them but might give them a try a little later.
They are at http://www.mircules.com

And they have stuff for Android, too. Maybe that will run on my Kindle.

Default iphone app

not directly related to ham radio, but interesting.

There are a lot of iPhone apps that read audio levels. Of course, I only got the free one!

OK for general use, but not highly accurate. Also found a group of apps that included an audio sig gen, etc.

Fun to play with.

I don't have a smartphone, and don't expect to have one ever, but they do amazing things.

A friend in South Carolina sent me a video clip that had an audio track that I found beautiful. I asked him what it was. He didn't know.

But he played it into his smartphone, on which he had an app that identified not only what the music was, but also the singer! It was an aria from the Italian opera-movie La Califfa, score by Ennio Morricone, and was sung by Sarah Brightman. I had recognized the voice, but had no idea what the music was.

It blows me away that a smartphone could do that. Here's a link so you can hear the song if you like.

.

She's pretty, too.
