Default Record time on QSL turn around.

This is cool!

No really, the point of this post is NOT to poke fun, criticize or abuse but to genuinely enjoy the fact I got a real, live, paper QSL card in an SASE. Back in the day, I loved to get the cards, even if I already had 37 cards confirming Alabama on 40 m. I looked forward to getting the mail to see what clever artwork might or might not be on the card.

So today I was surprised to find a real blast from the past in the mail. Literally, because the QSO recorded in the logbooks and on the cards occurred at 20:30 UTC on Nov 11, 1998. The Band was 20 m USB.

The enclosed note apologized for the delay, saying there had been some health issues and his radio friends were helping him get his cards out now that he's better.

The SASE has my old rubber stamp on it, and a 32 cent postage stamp with a goldfish on it. The others were added by the sender due to the cost of postage increasing for 19 years. Part of the fun of the SASE was you got to pick what canceled stamp you could add to your stamp collection.

What a wonderful surprise, and I don't mind at all that it's a little bit late.

So George and I hold a record of 6746 days, or 18 years, 5 months 20 days. Can anyone beat that?
