Willing to try some other bands. Being retired, I'm around the rig alot except for Wednesday and Saturday mornings till 1300 EST. Let me know when and where. Also, just thinking, maybe Wade can move/rename this thread to something like ORR NET until we figure out the best band/schedule.

I'm sure Wade will be reading this and that's a good idea Andy. We can keep the thread going until we get things ironed out. We need him to change the announcement at the top of the login page too. I'd hate for someone to be waiting around and become discouraged. Maybe he can put something up there to call attention to this thread ?

I see Mark online now. It's almost 11 AM his time. I don't know what hours he works. I'm ready to start exploring 20 and 17 meters Andy, what do you think ? That might work during the day for some of us.

I was thinking on the weekends we could set up a sked where we were on 20 or 17 at a certain time and on 40 or 80 at a different time.

We'll be getting the camper ready for a weeks trip up to Bonifay, FL. 'Cilla and I have to help her Mom with a few things next week and we're just going to take the RV up to a new campground up there. May even do a little workcamping at this new place.

Send me a post for a sked that is convenient for you today. Later this afternoon maybe and I'll try to make it. Let's sked a 20 or 17 mtr freq OK ?

That's great Randy. Please join in and help us get coordinated. It's "mo-betta" as for as I'm concerned. The more the better and the likelier we are to get together.

I work and have alternating Fridays off. I was off the 9th and will be off, 23, 06 Feb, 20 FEB and so on. Weekends and evening work for me.

I have been making the occassional contact on 17M (NW Oregon from Houston last Friday) and even 10M. 20M, 40M and even 80M get filled with a lot of nets.

Our local club has a net on Mondays at 2000 CST on 10 M and then shifts to 80 M after that. Always welcome to join in. Check the schedule and frequencies at www.w5nc.org.

Monday 2:10 PM ET/1:10 CT

I listened around on 17 meters. It sounds dead to me. I'm listening on 14.325 MHz if anyone reads this and wants to call. I have heard some activity on 20 meters, so I know it's not dead.

I did work W9OAW in Northern Wisconsin. He had a good signal into Florida.

I'll leave the receiver there until about dark incase anyone should read this and get on for a contact.

Thanks,

Jim - W4EWA

Tuesday - January 13 - 0800 CT

About to check into one of the Florida Traffic Nets on 3950, after that will set the receiver to 7230. Most likely will leave it there most of the day. If anythig changes will post to this thread and will be checking it regularly for you guys.

Will be back and forth from the house to the 5th wheel in preparation for this weekends excursion up to Bonifay, FL for about a week.

Low of 43 degrees here in "Dixie" this morning. Not as cold as expected.

I'm usually around during the day, as I'm on disability. I don't get out of bed until 10:00 or 11:00 CST though. I'm listening on 7230 now, but getting noise from some guys on 7231. I've got an S7 noise level, so I won't do any good at the moment.
