I found some bad spots on the roof and had to make some repairs. While I was making the repairs it was deemed necessary to replace the roof, and after much research I decided to recoat the roof with a liquid rubber coating.
The picture is almost 24 hours after the coating was applied. The coating chemically bonds to the old rubber and creates a new single layer. The bubbles that that are seen in the picture have disappeared at this time.
I am very happy with how the project turned out. The roof coating is very thick (estimate about a 40 mil coverage per the manufacturer). I describe it like painting caulk.
Oh by the way, all of the black dots you see on the roof are the love bugs that showed up the very day I did the roof. Wouldn't you know it.
