A thumbnail sketch of cosmic events upcoming this year.
Neat list, but I'm always amused at such applications of the word cosmic.
Sort of like calling people astronauts (which means star-sailors) when none of them have been farther than Earth's moon, and most haven't been higher than the rather low Earth orbit followed by the Space Station.
Would you call someone a World Traveler because he (once!) left his home in the Bronx to venture as far as Brooklyn?

The events are cosmic. We are not. Thus, we require a telescope.
Everything's cosmic, 'cuz it's in the cosmos, whatever exactly that is. Each of these events, besides being in the cosmos, is in the near vicinity of Earth. Two of'em involve a star, though -- the Sun, that is.
Just playing with words -- I think this is an interesting list and I'm glad to see it, and to have it here where I can find it again.

Where is Carl Sagan when you need him?
