Donnie,
There's always 146.52 simplex if you can catch someone on it. I would use a repeater directory or Google the repeaters near your route. I'm sure you'll find someone to chat with. :mic: And if you have 10m capability while mobile, that could be fun too.

If you have 20 meters mobile, it's always fun to hand out counties on the County Hunters Net at 14.336. If unfamiliar, listen for a while to learn the ropes.

I've scared up some contacts by using the ARRL's TravelPlus Mobile GPS software on my Garmin. It tells you what repeaters are nearby. Easier than with the repeater directory because you don't have to know the local geography to pick out repeaters.

There is a ARRL RV net on 7.265 I think every night during the week.

And there are nets all day and night it seems. Mornings from 6am CA time to 9AM there is the 72 Chew on 7272KHz. There is the Before Breakfaste club Midnight Eastern is the pre-net, Formal net starts at Midnight CA time, runs till the Breakfast club 2 hours later and that runs till the 72 Chew starts or later) 3985 I think not the best for Mobile.

I do not do any afternoon (East coast time) nets.. but there is the Nightwatch and Brother's nets on 40 Meters (You are going to have to look it up this comptuer does not have the freqauencies) w9bro.net will have them). those run in the evening Eastern time.. Like 5-8 (2-5 pm pacific).
