Unfortunately, I have had to put my fifth wheel up for sale.

Since then, I have been contacted by several "online marketing companies" that are just short of illegal. Wanted you all to know about these since it may save you or a friend some money.

Here is how it works:
you post an ad on craigslist or RVtrader.
you get a call from a company who says they will post your sale on many websites, and help find buyers to your unit.

What they actually do is post your same ad on 10 websites, charge you 200-300 bucks, and do nothing else.

At the end of the period (45 days or so), if its not sold, too bad, no refund.

Checked Better Business Bureau - one company had a B rating, the other an F.

Just be careful, always check, and if you get an unsolicited offer, it probably is bogus.

So, what they do is not illegal but its mighty unethical, and certainly not worth the money.

PS- in the background of one of the calls, I heard a guy shouting " get on those phones, get more customers, work it" . Sounds real reputable.

And there is a new variant on the "Internal Revenue Services" telephone scam. Now they say they are the US Treasury Dept or some such.

In either case, the feds are in kahoots with the Post Office. If they want you they'll write you a letter to keep the Post Office in business. They will NEVER call you on the phone.

Carl,

Thought I would throw in the other 4 wheels and the TRAILER if they buy the "fifth wheel".

You always have a keen eye for grammer.
