Well, it is no longer Dayton Hamvention. Now it is Greene County Hamvention. It will be at the Greene County fairgrounds in Xenia (zenia) OH. For the RVrs there is rv parking sites on the farigrounds, just not sure how many. To be put on a waiting list for a RV site call 937-372-8621, that is a direct phone number to the Greene county exhibition board. The hamvention people have nothing to do with rv camping sites. I plan to go to the Hamvention on Friday the 19th with my son KG7OF who lives in Reynoldsburg, OH. I will camp at the Lancaster RV campground in Lancaster OH which is about 30 miles from his house. Not many decent RV parks near Xenia except for a couple state parks and a couple old RV parks next to I-70. For anyone that previously stayed at the KOA in Brookville it will be about 40 miles to Xenia. Not hard to get to but you do need to go through Dayton on US-35 to get there. It's 4 lane highway so not all that bad. For more info, here is a link: http://www.greenecountyfairgrounds.com/hamvention

From another forum a RVr stopped at the fairground for an overnight stop. He said the sites are grass and most share a water spigot. Sites are 20' wide and vary in length 25'-50'. Electric is in a shared breaker box , 30 or 50 amp but you can't reserve it, so it was suggested you have extra power cord available as well as extra water hose. Water pressure was high (90#) so use a pressure regulator. There are 2 RV parking areas, one with 40 sites and the other with 60 sites. Plans are not to use all the sites so they may be limited to around 80 total. Cost is another issue, the last price given was $65 per night, 3 night minimum, price includes 2 entry tickets which will be $22 in advance or $27 at the gate. Each additional night will be $50. This person got on the waiting list but has since backed out because of cost as well as a number of others, he said last September there was 60 people on the waiting list but it may not be that many now. Realize fairgrounds are not great camp areas, water, electric and 2 dump stations and tight. We will see how it works out this year, it may and probably will change in 2018.
