Fridge had the "lack of gas" LED lit and I wanted to trouble shoot the problem.

Found this gas line from the tank to the regulator blown apart. Original equipment, about 10 years old. And of course the tank is empty.

Anybody else had this happen?

Count yourself lucky. Here's a likely sequence of events:

(1) The hose blows apart, filling the compartment with gas.

(2) The fridge tries to start up, using an electric spark to light the flame.

If those two things had happened within, say, a couple minutes of each other, it could have been really exciting. Maybe even if they were within a couple hours of each other, n'est-ce pas?

Might have disturbed the neighbors. The trailer is parked in it's usual spot in the yard. We're not on a trip or anything. Fridge is on the back end, tanks on the front.

Also the tank is designed to vent very slowly in this type scenario.

The LP tank compartment floor is nothing more than a frame, you can literally see the ground, and the compartment is fairly well sealed from the trailer itself.

God loves me. And apparently still has some use for me. The trailer didn't explode. And the fool woman playing with her phone instead of driving her Suburban looked up just in time. Our mirrors missed each other by 2 feet.

Tank pressure can exceed 300 psi prior to the regulator parked in the sun on a hot day but it should haven't blown the line off.

No, should not. But it did. The camper is 10 years old, officially. The replacement hoses are here. Having some dental work done tomorrow. Maybe Saturday will feel like fooling with it. Shouldn't take 20 minutes to swap them both out.
