I'm a connoisseur of those campground signs people lug around with them where ever they go. Particularly the ones that make you look twice and say "Hmm?"

About 10 years ago now, just before a week of camping, Kathy strained her shoulder trying to teach a kid to play tuba. (Remember, she plays flute and violin. Different set of muscles.) She hurt the whole time we were gone.

I've been wanting a sign like this ever since. It finally came today.

Like to see yours, or one you've seen.

Cool sousaphone, Wade. Didja also get one with a pic of a tuba? Maybe one with a pic of tuba would say "no sousaphone playing", eh?

We are still trying to identify the species of critter that's playing the instrument... allegedly it's a chipmunk.

But I'm not sure...

I think it's a chipmunk -- nothing else (other than my neighbor's kid) can pack the cheeks like that when eating, or would even want to.

I actually tried to find a "tuba" artwork. But none were clever-funny-cute enough to make the cut. Plus the chipmunk ties into the campground theme. And sousaphone takes up too much space on the sign.

So as in every good compromise, no one is happy.

Except me.

Next trip to Home Depot shall render a way to hang the thing.

Be comforted, Wade. The sousaphone is often called a marching tuba. Tubas, euphoniums, and sousaphones are all called tubas at times.

The sousaphone is pitched a little below the euphonium
and a little above the highest tuba (F tuba).

You'll probably like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgBI_OyP9fE), played by the amazing Michael Dodd.
