I'll make a point of monitoring .520 simplex. The call is on both the front and back of the trailer.

Nice unit! I'll bet that with a good tuner, you could probably load that bad boy on 20 or 40 meters. Good luck on the road!

No drinking and driving! :(
Oh, you were referring to the other kind of loading. :radio::D

My ham plate is on the toad for now. I will most likely leave it there as if we are on the road it will block the RV plate to most.
I found I had that problem while towing the 5 different 5th wheels we have had since 1977 but I wanted the plate on the truck as it spent more time on the road.
Maybe some letters on the top of the RV like you have are in order? I assume your callsign is on the back the of trailer as well?
I will place my extra AZ plate (you get two with the vanity but are only required to have one on the rear of the car) in the front window of the MH when parked but all the antenna are going to be hard to miss.

That's a nice looking trailer...but Airstreams always are!

Good looking AS. We have a 1979 Vintage Silver Streak. Looking how to mount the FT 897 in the trailer and get a decent antenna portable.

19 hours on over two days on the trip to Dayton from Texas I monitored .52 the whole way. Called several times with no response. The only thing I did hear was the noise of fundamental overload from truckers with CB's on steroids. There ought to be a law...

There is an it's ignored as you well know.

AT LAST!!! I actually heard somone on .52!

While leaving Hamvention yesterday afternoon somone called on .52 looking for a radio check for his brand new, just installed radio. What realy surprised me was that he got a relply before I could get to my mike.

It just goes to show you that when you put twenty some thousand hams in the same town you're bound to find somebody on just about every frequency.

Well of course! They want to walk you in so you can spend your money!
Stop by K8RA's booth and say hello to Jerry for me.
He sells CW keys and such.
I guess CW is not dead yet. He said he sold 30 yesterday and it was expected to be a slow day.

SRI, I didn't see your mesage until this morning and I won't be going back to Dayton today. Based on what I saw this year it didn't look like they had anywhere the attendance they had last year. However, some of the merchants I spoke with said they have sold more this year.

No big deal.
I have been in contact with him awaiting arrival of a new key so I knew he was there.
He did indicate that his business was good but overall the attendance seemed lower.
