As usual I tried all the knobs and switches before opening the manual.
So introduction will proceed with location: Pittston, Maine or where ever the APRS says we are. North in the summer and searching for warmth in the winter.
APRS as N1XRB (currently down until the new Tiny Tracker arrives)
RV is a 1986 MCI Bus Conversion. And yes I did the work on this one and the first one. We have been in camping/RV since 1970. Started with a Starcraft tent trailer, PU slide camper, tent for a while at the Fairs with show animals(4H), then got a Class A MH 23 foot Dodge 1970, Class C 29 foot Rockwood 1984, Class A 30 foot Pace Arrow 1990. Then we found bus conversions. First one was a 35 foot 1970 GM Model 4108. The GM served us well for 11 years, first two years lost while converting. Made an Alaska trip in 2001. When you can that is a great trip. But you need to be able to take at least three months for the trip.
Somebody made an offer to buy the GM so sold it and bought the MCI. Again no RV'ing for about two years. No HF rig in the MCI yet. Maybe by June of 09.
Served in the US Navy Submarine Service.

:hello:

Welcome to the ORR.net forums!

We ain't too big on rules. But since you fessed up, you are hearby sentenced to making really good posts, dropping by often and otherwise making yourself at home.

There are no appeals. Sorry.

Welcome aboard Bill!:welcome:
Great bunch offolks here! Some photos of those conversions would be great, if you have them. You must have some great stories and helpful hints with your camping/RVing experience. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Bill,

Glad to have you onboard. I'm down south, in the Florida Panhandle, near Panama City, FL. I've only been on ORR a few months but found it to be a great bunch of fellers. We're recently retired, not full timers but do some RV'ing every chance we get. Like Andy said, if you have some photos of your conversion bus stick 'em up. I'd like to see them. Sounds interesting.

Remember that most of the folks here are Ham Radio Operators and Rag Chewing......

Well..That's what it's all about now isn't it?

WELCOME, Jump in, the electrons are just fine.

Thanks for the welcome.
If I can figure out: 1 How to upload pictures 2 How to use/produce/add an avater I would be more than happy to post pictures and make a really neat signature block (had a sudden vision of the insurance company ad on TV with the name badge. Hate brain farts like that.)
Any guidance or helpful hints will be cheerfully accepted. Somebody is always the Elmer for the new guy.

Avitar: Click on User CP at the top of every page, just under the banner picture. Then look down the left side for Edit Avitar. That will bring up the avitar creator/editor. Signature editor is in the User CP, too.

Posting Pictures (and other files) Using the advanced post editor (the one that comes up when you start a new thread or select GO ADVANCED when responding to a thread. Scroll down the page until you see the button that says "manage attachments" and that will open the attachment tool. It's use should be fairly obvious.

Be advised that pictures, avitars and signatures are limited to certain size restrictions. Most pictures can be redused in display size and file size by using MicroSoft Paint.

OK, lets see the bus!
