Good afternoon fellow RVer and Hams. I ran across this site just yesterday afternoon and went ahead and signed up!

A little info on myself, I am 62 YO and retired from 35 years with the US Air Force and the TN Air National Guard. I mostly served in Tactical Air Command Ground Units and worked in the repair end of the Radio Communications field.
My last 10 years I was a Chief Master Sergeant.

I have been a Ham since 1971 and the level of my ham activities varies from year to year.

My wife and I have been RVing since the early 80s and we have had tents, pop-ups, travel-trailers, 5th wheels and now a 1997 HR Vacationer Class A.

Additionally, I ride bicycles for fitness and recreation! I completed my first century (100 miles in one day) last September! Because of back problems I ride recumbent bikes, a RANS Stratus and a RANS V-Rex.

Great to have aboard. Lots to browse here and its a great site and the only one that i know of that combines the two hobbies... rv and hamming.

Al, glad you found us. My wife and I ride recumbents. We both have older Bike E's, but I am looking to up grade this coming year and considering Cycle Genius. Also considering a trike.

We started RVing in 1984 and I finally go my ticket about 4 years ago.

My wife and I live about 35 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee, not very far from the I 81/I 40 split!

We are not full timers and because of some health issues my wife has been going through, we have been staying relatively close to home for the past few years. While we will most likely continue to live here, we hope, in the future, to winter in Florida and take a trip out west. Additionally, I would like to take a trip to New England! I'm thinking the MH is gonna make traveling much easier on my wife.

Regarding recumbent bikes, Ken you would probably enjoy a trike! In the Knoxville area there are several folks that ride them. I have been on rides where they were participating and they looked like a lot of fun. Like all things they have pros and cons. I'm guessing that "taking them with you" is the con that you will notice first! Regarding, the recumbent bikes...I am a RANS fan. My RANS Stratus (20/26 version) is my favorite. Transporting it securely can also be a thought provoking task. As I mentioned, I also have a V-Rex and since it is a short wheel base recumbent it is much easier to transport!
The above being said, both of my recumbents will fit on most racks. The folks I know transporting a trike use a pick-up, a van, or a platform rack!

Welcome aboard, Al! I haven't been here in a few days, so I am late in welcoming you. I've been a ham since 1986, but just graduated from tents to an RV a little over a year ago.
