Several close friends thought I should make my siituation public so here it goes.

Man what a year, June 30 lose job then start a GREAT career on Sept 3 we get to relocate to a wonderfull place we truly love, Wife gets to retire from her job and we sold the house in Southaven then it goes down hill again.

From July to date I have lost just over 30 pounds and after living in the camper (2 months) during the move I thought it was just not eating right and stress trying to get things done for work/move/and all that. I felt good and no signs that something was wrong.

Glennette moved down 1 month ago today with all we own and that weekend I got VERY sick. I actually got the worst on the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Well Tuesday 12/16/2008 I was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. Doc says this has been in my system for about 1 and 1/2 years and surgery MUST happen. My tumor is in the worst possible place for surgery at this time and I will start chemo and radiation next Tuesday in hopes to shrink the tumor to a point he can perform a successful surgey that will allow me to lead a normal life down the road.

Many have asked about my spirit and I can simply say at first this was a HUGH SHOCK.

THIS WILL NOT GET ME DOWN!!!! I WILL WIN!!!!

Glennette and I do ask to be added to prayer list as we know we will have some bad days ahead but friends, willpower and most of all the lord will guide us down this rough road.

Ronald Reagan beat colon cancer...and he was nearly 80 at the time. Went out and got back on his horse and rode. (Fell off the horse a time or to, but still got back on!)

So if he can do it, so can you.

You are in our prayers, me and Greg and the possie will hold things together here.

I was thinking about you a day or two ago Mike. I knew I had not seen a post from you in awhile and at last you had not long started your job. Never thought it would have been a health issue. I assure you, you will be in our prayers.

Please keep this thread going and keep us updated.

Mike I will put you on the top of my prayer list.

I want to share a story about a friend who last year about this time was told that she had a Blood cancer and has tumors through her body. She was told there was nothing they could do for her and she would not make it to Christmas. She went to several Hospitals seeing specialist who told her the same thing. Well we started a prayer network, we had many churches and people praying for her. Well 2 days ago I had lunch with her, she is now so healthy can actually eat like normal now, something she could not do last year at this time. All the Doctors are totally baffled, the tumors are disappearing, her weight is back, she feels better now than she has in many years. I know prayer works I've seen it first hand.

Mike I pray things will turn around and life will get better for you than before.

Mike I will add you to my church's prayer list. By Monday you will have over 500 people praying for you from my church alone, in addition to the others. I have many friends and a brother-in-law that have fought cancer and won.

Hang in there!

Hey folks,

I spoke with Mike yesterday afternoon and he is doing fine (considering) one week after his first chemo treatment. His main complaint is getting tired real fast. He begins his second round of chemo today.

Continued thoughts and prayers for Mike and Glennette are appreciated.
