First let me say Glennette and I truly thank all of you for the support during this trying time. The calls, emails, snail mail helps me more than you know in staying focused with a positive attitude.

I don't think I shared this during my illness announcement so here is the facts and update.

My cancer is stage 4 and had spread to my liver before I knew I was sick. Obviously this was an additional blow to the mental status. I feel we were blessed with my job loss forcing a relocation due to the fact I have a great and supportive employer now and our relocatiion led us to one of the best cities in the US for cancer treatment.

I have not had any radiation as planned but chemo is a bitch!!!

I get every other Tuesday the following drugs 5fu, Avastin, Eloxatin, Leucovorin.

I had a CT scan on the 18th of Feb and all mass in the rectum and the spot on my liver have "significantly reduced in size" after four treatments. I have four more treatments beginning today and will rescan to check for the next steps.

The treatment are 3 days per week, 5FU is worn for 48 hours straight.

Surgery has now also been removed from my doctors plan due to the liver problem.

All of my vitals and blood test have returned to there normal healthy levels and that is a GREAT thing. I had lost 50 pounds so far and last week I had gained three pounds back.
So although I stay exhausted most of the time and not able to do very much. The treatment is working and my attitude is still positive.

Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers,

Mike and Glennette Rimmer

I realize this is an old thread but I just wanted to add that my DW has undergone chemo and radiation for uterian cancer.
She is now a four year survivor.
You are in our prayers.
