I see at least one molex power connector hanging out in space, and none of the radios seem to be mounted or lit up.

Not lit up because be probably stalled the engine by overloading the alternator and blew a fuse.

Thought that shot is most likely a joke (nobody would leave thousands of dollars worth of radios just sitting there less it was very well guarded)

I have seen a few "Rolling porcupines" (Vehicles with more antenna than a procupine has quills)

I know a Ham here in Mexifornia, that has almost the same in his Lincoln and it really does have an antenna farm on the roof and trunk lid. :jitter::worthy:

We have a Ham around Charleston WV that has about ten antennas on top and a 4.5KW gen set on front bumper with a 13' 6" HF antenna on the reese hitch on the back. I had a BO BO was 4.5 or 4500 watts.

We have one that I thought was bad. Probably 6 antennas on his old car.

I had a 1974 Chevy Blazer (fiberglass top) with 13 antennas on it at one time.....back in the days of crystal radios and most were old Motorola or GE MaSTR'S.... heck of a bird killer it was....really would TWANG when I'd hit one, heh...

I finally put an HF rig in my daily driver. Now I need to work on a set up in my tow vehicle.
Yaesu FT-100 and ATAS100 in my 2002 Tundra.

Nothing wrong with those photos Ed (it is Ed, isn't it?). I am terrible on names. I need everyone to complete their signature boxes for their posts. That way I can remember.;) What is the mobile antenna you have mounted to your storage box please ? You brought this up at a good time.

We've had our motor home for a year now and I've still not mounted my radios in it. That is quickly becoming a priority for me. About time, huh ?:whistle: I've got a single bander 2-meter rig I can put in it and a mobile antenna. I've decided on the HF rig I want to go in it. I sold my old Kenwood TS-50 a couple of years ago to a new amateur in our area. He ran it from his home and had a good time with it for two years and it quit on him. I told him I really felt bad about it, and I did. He assured me for the price, he certainly got his money's worth out of it and had some enjoyable times, working from his home. He turned around and bought himself a new rig.

I want to get the Kenwood TS-480HX for the motor home. I think that added 100 watts of power over the standard 100 watt radio would make a real difference operating mobile. This radio covers 160 meters to 6 meters. I'm thinking of one of the Screwdriver Antennas for the rear of the RV. I've got Ham Sticks, fiberglass pushup poles and all types of mobile antennas that require swapping components for different bands. A screwdriver should eliminate that.

I guess I should start a new thread to get input from you guys on this stuff, rather then adding to this one. Thanks guys for any info and recommendations you might have.

Greetings, thanks for your comments on my mobile station.

The antenna is the Yaesu ATAS-100. It is a screw driver antenna that mates with the FT-100. The push of a button on the rig tunes it automatically for best SWR. Works really well, changing bands only requires a 3 to 5 second time for tuning.

Ok don't laugh here is my Saturn VUE. But this is a temporary set up to run a special event station as net control and all the rigs on the dash came down before the parking break was released.

A little velcro and duct tape would make a great permanant mount I think. Only one disadvantage. It sure is exposed, inviting a auto-burglary.
