All...

I thought I'd start a thread to have discussion about hurricane Earl.

Right now 875 miles SE of Atlanta. Internal pressure 941 millibars. My Barometer (and it's a nice one, too!) only reads down to 933 mb. 8 more points and it's off scale. Earl is a great sucking hole in the sky and is not to be taken lightly.

So now we have a semi-official forum for Earl.

To clarify, it's 941 mb inside Earl, in Atlanta it's a happy 1030 mb!!

This is not to be taken lightly for sure. I do not envy anyone on the east coast (although I admit I was relieved when it did not come into the gulf). Everybody should watch this with interest. Praying for all on the coast.

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is one of my favorite places to go. Hope it's not torn up too bad. Been meaning to get up there with the RV, but the economy got in the way.

Earl is officially off the scale on my barometer. With an internal pressure of 932 mb, my barometer (again, a pretty nice one) only goes down to 933 mb.

295 miles SE of Wilmington NC, lets hope the computers have it right and Earl will skip along the eastern seaboard without a landfall.
