My preferred antenna is a 100' long wire, Works well on most everything save 10 meters (I'm not sure ANYTHING works on 10 just now)

One end is hooked to a Kenwod auto-tuner that is controlled by my TS-2000
The other end has a nylon cord with a 2 pound weight on the end

I can hit 20-30 feet throwing it over tree limbs.

To make the weight.. Take a crystal light or whylers 5 tub/tube "Can" Crystal light is plastic so it's better than Whyler's cardboard cans.

Enjoy the contents

Fill with concrete and either place a short length of chain (say 4 links) or an eye bolt with nut in the mix so htat either the top link or the eye is exposed. Let harden.

I also use these (in fact originally created them) to weight down tarps. Drop a clip in the exposed link of the chain and it hooks to a tarp grommet.
