I have gone to great pains to reduce my 12 volt power requirements LED's accumulator tanks for the water pump very efficient exhaust fan. I run two batteries and have gone for 7 days with out a recharge the next trick is a 50+ watt portable/steerable solar panel so I can run my HF rig a little more often. I collect water from my awning also I have found that some times the water does not taste quite right and all I have to do is pour the water back an forth between two containers a few times and it's fine there is an amazing amount of water from even a small rain storm. Where I am there is no need to run from storms pretty much the worse we get here in the mountains is snow and as far as unpredictable ones I don't think the election of Democrats was, so I was well prepared.
