Yah, it has a lot of info in the metadata. Time, date, camera, camera settings, lens, focal length, focused distance, f-stop, shutter speed, white balance, how I was holding the camera (really!), and who knows what all.
But before I can right-click the pic, I have to
find the pic, and usually I want to find the pics shot on a certain date or dates. Naming by date will help a lot.
I can specify the first three characters of the filename , and I've decided on 15A for 2015-January, 15B for 2015-February, and so forth. This month is 15G, next month is 15H, et cetera. January of next year will be 16A. My 100th birthday will occur in 40K. That system need not be changed unless I live to be 160 years old, which is improbable even for me.
