I use fiberglass poles and get up about 24' with home made dipoles full half wave from 10 to 18 meters (usually field day stuff) there is no reason you could not use the buddy poles. I'm a resonance freak and when I'm not trying make DX contacts I use a screwdriver antenna on a bumper mast setup behind my camper mostly 40 and 80. If your camper has an aluminum roof that's a plus I have ground points on my camper and have been all over the AL siding making sure all of it is connected and grounded to the camper ground system including the radios then drive a 3 foot ground rod and attach the ground to the rear bumper with a standard ground lug.
