I've never seen anyone mount a screwdriver to a tripod, but I'm sure it can be done. I also have a Comet CHA250-B that I sometimes use. I mount it to the rear ladder and it has worked great in the past. All bands and no radials. We've got some of the smoke, but not bad. A little hazy when the wind's from the North. Fishings great. Weathers cool. Just can't beat that.
