Fay Continuing Her Slow Trek Across N. Fl.

At 500 Pm Edt The Center Of Tropical Storm Fay Was Located Near
Latitude 29.8 North.longitude 83.2 West Or About 50 Miles North
Of Cedar Key Fl & About 110 Miles East Of Apalachicola
Fl.

Fay Is Moving Toward The West Near 6 Mph. On The Forecast
Track.the Center Of Fay Is Expected To Continue Crossing The
Northern Fl Peninsula Tonight & Then Move Near Or Over The
Fl Panhandle On Saturday.

Max Sustained Winds Are Near 45 Mph With Higher Gusts. Little
Change In Strength Is Forecast During The Next 24 Hrs.

Tropical Storm Force Winds Extend Outward Up To 115 Miles.

Estimated Min Cntl Pressure Is 997 Mb.29.44 Inches.

Storm Surge Flooding Of 2 To 4 Feet Above Normal Tide Levels Is
Possible In The Warning Area Along The Fl Gulf Coast In
Areas Of Onshore Winds.

Fay Is Expected To Produce Total Rainfall Accumulations Of 5 To
10 Inches Across The N. Fl Peninsula.the Fl
Panhandle..southern Ga.southern Al.& Southern
Ms.with Isolated Max Amounts Of 15 Inches
Possible.

Isolated Tornadoes Are Possible Tonight Over Portions Of
Northern Fl.southern Ga.& S. So. Carolina.

Tropical Storm Wind Watch Is Cancelled.
Occasional Gusty Winds & Very Heavy Rain Still Expected.

New Information.

The Tropical Storm Wind Watch Has Been Cancelled As It Appears
That Tropical Storm Force Winds Will Likely Not Occur In The Area.
However.gusty Winds Up To 35 Mph Will Continue To Be Possible
Throughout The Duration Of Fay.

Areas Affected.

This Statement Recommends Actions To Be Taken By Persons In The
Following Counties.

Inland Walton.holmes.jackson.

Watches/warnings.

A Flood Watch Remains In Effect Through Sun Night.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions.

Tropical Storm Fay Will Move Westward Over No. Fl This
Afternoon & Move Over The Waters Of Apalachee Bay Tonight. Fay
Will Move Over The Fl Panhandle Coast On Saturday. While Fay
May Only Be A Weak Tropical Storm As It Nears The Fl
Panhandle.gusty Winds & Heavy Rainfall Are Still Expected.

There Is The Potential Of Considerable Flooding From This Storm.
If You Live In A Low Lying Area Make Preparations To Move To
Higher Ground. If Necessary.secure Sandbags To Protect Your
Property.

Winds.

Gusty Winds Will Occur In Rainbands Associated With Fay. Even
Though Tropical Storm Force Winds Are Not Expected.winds Of 30
To 35 Mph May Down A Few Limbs From Weaker Trees.

Inland Flooding.

Significant Heavy Rainfall Will Be The Dominant Threat From
Tropical Storm Fay. The Potential Exists For Storm Total Rainfall
Amounts 6 To 8 Inches. This Will Likely Cause Moderate Flooding Of
Low Lying Areas. Riverine Flooding May Occur In The Days Ahead As
Heavy Rainfall Occurring Over Areas To The North.

Tornadoes.

An Isolated Tornado Threat Exists For Sat & Sun As Fay
Moves Across The Region.
