It is neither a cleaner nor a lubricant. It is a Water Displacer, perfected in it's 40th formulation, originally intended for the aerospace industry.

It does however, have more than 2000 official uses, amongst which are cleaning and lubricating.

I like to spray it into car door locks when a hard freeze is expected. It displaces any moisture so the locks don't freeze and ensures entry into the vehicle.
