I was certain that this was not so.
West Quoddy is at 44 48 N, 66 57 W.
Several islands in the Aleutians have
east longitudes and are therefore east of any place, like West Quoddy, that has a
west longitude. The Aleutians, of course, are part of Alaska and therefore part of the USA.
Amchitka, for example, is at 51 28 N, 178 56 E, which is almost as far east as there is.
But it turns out that none of the Aleutian Islands with
east longitudes are inhabited. No people, no towns. So you're right after all.
Although West Quoddy isn't the easternmost
place in the USA, it is, just as you say, the easternmost
town.
Alaska has the northernmost, westernmost, and easternmost places in the USA.
