Default Vent Lid vs MaxxAir

I was under the assumption that if I had MaxxAir vent covers then I would never have to change the vent lids.

Wrong.

Really, seriously wrong, as I found out when I installed the Vortex fan. They'll likely last much longer, and no water comes in when they fail, but no, you will have to change them out sooner or later.

And washing the roof thoroughly does nothing for getting accumulated crud out from under the MaxxAir. Doesn't seem to have hurt anything, though.

I went back with smoke tinted lids to see if that would help with heat and light issues and maybe last longer.
