Things are looking up.
This is Matt, showing off his new camera. This is me showing off my 5 Band 2 element quad up about 70ft on a Rohn 55' fold over tower. (Oh, and God showing off all the stars...)

It was done with a Canon digital.
Matt says the camera can not do extended exposures, like 30 minutes or so, because having the sensor energized that long will damage it. So this is about 40 or so separate 30 second exposures that are "stacked" with editing software. If you look carefully, the star trails appear to be "dotted" - each dot is from an individual 30 sec exposure.
I don't recall the name of the editing software.
