I you wish a way to avoid that storm head to I-95 I do now care where you pick it up) to Georgia Exit 49, turn North by North west for 3 miles,, The road takes a hard right at this point,, Continue straight onto the side road,, you will see a white rail fence, at the end of that fence is a sign for Cathead Creek RV park,, I am on site 12 30 degrees last night (My hose lit up) but no snow,

Got to love it We have places up here in Maine that have had over 6' in less than a month I'm lucky we only have 4' and I have 80 acres to push it in to however by tomorrow morning that will all change with a foot and a half more! Made it to 11* today. I really feel sorry for Boston they actually have had more than we have and they have no place to put it.

Zeesh. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Right now (10 am) it's about 54 F here in Tallahassee, which to me seems unpleasantly cold.

On the other hand, my early life (during WW2 and a little after, age a few months to 6 yrs) was spent in Connecticut [Groton -- my father was in submarines in WW2] and I don't recall that the winters were anything but fun-in-the-snow. How we change. One winter, when I was five or so, the water tower, 100 yd or so behind the house, froze, leaked, and sprayed the surrounding thicket, coating the branches and twigs with clear ice. The day was clear and sunny. For my sister and me it was a crystalline wonderland.

7 PM - 2, wind chill -18 headed to -10 for a low. Blowing snow to the point I'll have to plow again in the morning or my wife will not get out in her Scion. I have been back in Maine for at least 23 years now and this might be the first year I will have to raid my wood pile my normal wood storage at the house is showing a risk of running out. There is at least 8 cords under the snow glad I have a snowmobile to go get it!

It'll take a while to fetch eight cords of wood with a snowmobile. Or even one cord. Have fun.

In Tallahassee it was 70 yesterday, 65 this morning -- and then a cold front. Rain. Not much wind, but it's been dropping a degree every ten to fifteen minutes. Right now it's 45.

Ah, well, I have warm clothes from when I was a traveling consultant. Coats, jackets, long sleeves, thermal undies, wool pants, even a Russian-looking fur hat and Balaclava, and both ski gloves and dress gloves. Sometimes I even wear shoes and socks instead of flip-flops; but I own no galoshes.

Let's hear it for global warming!

The freezing rain/sleet/black ice on the roads stuff stopped about 60 miles north of here. But then there's the next one...

Supposed to be 24 tonight, 23 tomorrow night, 35 Friday night.

But at least we're 2/3 of the way through the beastly month of February.

6-12" tomorrow then once again two sunny days and then snow again. How ever there may be a day close to 30* then back in the teens. Washed the salt off the truck today in a down jacket and gloves made it to 24*
