Default Hurricane Sandy

The Hurricane Watch Net is active (as I write) on 14.325 MHz for H. Sandy.

Sandy is becoming better defined, unusually well for just a Cat 1 storm. The high pressure system over Georgia that gave me cool, very dry weather for camping last weekend, will keep Sandy off the Atlantic coast until it passes Washington, DC, where it will tend to pull the storm inland.

Should make for some interesting radio. HWN has the very best HF net controllers and message handling you'll ever hear.

Essentially a "perfect storm" and headed for NYC. The stuff movies are made of.

Well, all you folks up that direction, take cover or bail out and head for safer ground.

Here's hoping it turns EAST fast.

Hunkering down here in CT. Getting gas for generator, charging batteries, filling car gas, getting emergency supplies for home and filling bathtub too. Trick or Treat Sandy!

Run that generator an hour or two, too, Andy, so you know it'll serve.

Keeping fingers crossed for you and all of you up there.

Good luck to everyone on the eastern seaboard. I remember just a few months ago it was us. Hope you all get as little damage (or less) than we did.

Praying for you all!
