Lacking any place better to put this.
Here's a link to a "SOLAR" calculator that may be useful in other areas as well !

Followed link. 249 bucks for a clamp on digital ammeter.

Sears, Clampon digital ammerters AC/DC and yes I know for a fact it works on both DC and AC cause I have one beside me as I type. I thin it was 60 of 70 bucks full price and if you get 'em on sale.. LESS.

My only interest was the Calculator App. .
You can find many ammeters on the web cheaper , even on "E-BUCK" !

That's a cool app. I was looking at clamp on amp meters and one for my Fluke was only $600 then I looked at one made of Chinaesium that had twice as many don't buy as it had there OK's. Guess I'll keep looking.

The Fluke i-1010 is a add-on AC-DC current clamp which works with most Fluke DMM's , about $375.00 on the web.

For the "occasional" user , there are several cheaper meters that will do the job very well , I have two or three different clamp on amp meters Chinese and American that all read with in a 1/10 amp of each other (not bad for clamp-on's) .

Just depends on how much you want to spend !

Yeah I have 3 Fluke DVM's and Fluke 50MHZ scope meter but I'm not going to own a clamp on Fluke probe! Most of the big box guys have reasonably priced clamp on meters but they are only A/C current. Little bit of a heads up for those looking for a amp meter many say A/C D/C but they will not do D/C current just A/C they kind of get you because they will do D/C voltage.

My Son bought Klein CL-2000's for his service van's .
I have the following , Extech EX730 and 640, 1-klein CL-2000, 1 -Amprobe ACDC-100, 1-Fluke 375 (currently in the MH tool box) , several other Amprobe AC/DC meters and a couple of Fluke AC/DC current adapters.
several of these were acquired from pawn shop's or yard-sales, but even looking on the web a good "clamp-on" can be had for under $200 but YES, you do have to watch what you buy and check the spec's closely on some .
I tend to favor the older "Amprobe" meters but the current carry meter is the Fluke 375.
Yes, all of the above have their roots in China including the Amprobe (assembled in Canada) but have held up well and preformed well over the years.
I know someone is going to ask "WHY" do I have so many ?, simple need at the moment or opportunity / price , I even have a HUGE old "WESTON" clamp-on that you have to change the the meter movement's (heads) to switch from AC to DC. .
Some people collect Stamp's , I seem to collect test equipment ,,,,go figure !
