Really? I used to keep a Radio Shack 10m rig (25 watts out?) in my previous truck and I could work Europe and Africa from Georgia just about every day on a Radio Shack CB antenna. Then the sunspots went away and so did 10m.

But I still have that little rig. Now if I just had a place to put it in the new truck. (New? I've had it 6 years...but still making payments so it MUST be new, right?)

Default 10 Meters

Glad someone is making contacts on 10 Meters , I go through the band almost every day and have yet to hear anything but static . Am hoping to hear folks on the 10 meter contest day on 10-10-12.

Well today it was as dead as a stone but all last week it was way hot Saturday there were so many people on, it was hard to work a DX station with every one calling at the same time. I worked UA0BA from Maine mobile Saturday along with most of Eastern Europe and the Middle East. There were many CA stations working Europe and the Middle East and I could hear them 20 over 9. I hope it's not all over 10 sure is fun when it's open.

What time of day do you find best to check for activity?

OK I'll try to check more often. Maybe catch you on the upcoming 10 meter contest.

I guess 10 meters has as much to do with your location as it does your antenna, because I have not heard much of anything on 10 meters all summer.
The sun spots are at an all time low and Solar Cycle 23 has been a bust.
I worked 110 countries on 10 in the last 3 years, but the prediction is that we are going into a all time low that has not been seen since the 1600's and that it is going to last 200 - 300 years....

Living in a northern latitude will do this...

The guys I talked to down in Tampa Bay every day three years ago were on 28.415 MHz USB..
They have a entirely different situation down there with lot's of locals on the frequency and lots of skip coming from the south.
