Default FLG to OAK

I just made the trip from Flagstaff, AZ to Oakland, CA. I only used the CB once to tell a driver they left the blinker on after passing. But, wouldn't you know it, I heard someone on I-5 call "listening" on 146.52 while I was on the phone with DW. I tried calling back after the phone call (hands free of course) but no such luck.

I only called CQ at the top of hills and such but, hey, we're out there...

That's the experience I've had. Just not many folks monitoring .52 on the road. I would think everyone would be scanning that freq. I had much rather work simplex than repeater operations.

Hope you had a pleasant and enjoyable trip. Will you be out on the west coast awhile ? I hear Arnie is taxing everything out there.

Jim

PS - BTW, good website you have.

I think we will be out here quite a while. Long enough to throw up an HF antenna for sure.
