Default W8RLM - New Member

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new member and am looking forward to being on the forum. I have a 2006, Winnebago Journey, 39 foot with a CAT 350 Diesel and an Allison 6 speed. In my previous motorhome, I had a Yaesu FT100 with an ATAS 100 screwdriver antenna. I also have a Standard dual bander. I haven't installed either radio yet in the new motorhome. I plan to install the Standard by the driver's seat with a glass mount antenna while I'm on a 3 month trip throught the South. The FT100 comes after that. I tow a 2003 PT Cruiser with a Yaesu FT857 installed in it, so I have mobile HF available. It uses an ATAS100 for the HF antenna as well. We live in Solon, Ohio outside of Cleveland.

We plan to trael to Galveston, Texas and then to Arizona starting in January. In February, we will meander to Florida for a Winnebago Rally in Orlando at the beginning of March. We'll be home by the end of March.

If anyone will be in the area, let me know and maybe we can have an eyeball QSO.

W8RLM - Bob

Glad to have you here. When you get down Houston way, give me a shout if you have time. Lots of active VHF/UHF repeaters in the area. I belong to NARS (W5NC.org) and use the 146.660 repeater here. We also have a 10m net on Mondays and then mover over to 80m to talk to some folks near San Antonio and else where.

Glad to have you on board! When you go to Galveston, you'll pass by the QTH 60 miles to the east. I'm assuming you will take Highway 59 south.

You should enjoy Texas at that time of year.

However, we got 5 inches of snow at Galveston State park on Christmas day, several years ago. Don't miss the Space Center.
