Default Six and Ten Meters Open

I keep hearing that 6 meters and 10 meters are open and have been open the past couple of days. I'm not much of a DX Chaser but thought I would listen around abit. Anyone working any DX ?

Hi Jim
Have not heard any openings on 10. I still need to get an antenna up for chasing six and 2M. Maybe I will get that done before the next VHF Contest.

I'm not currently scanning six or ten,,, What's best Time of Day to come out here and check them out?

I do know when you get a band opening it can be impressive.

Had a bit of fun the last few days.. There is an IRLP repeater near me (Article on IRLP that appeared in Escapees ham radio news letter available upon request of moderator) and when I linked to the Western Reflector over in Lost Wages, NV, there was another ham who linked in from N.Queensland, Australia. Not bad for a UHF radio contact

Well...Last night I"m chatting with another computer users I often exchange forum posts with (Different forums) who is also in Australia.. Though not North (Or south) Queensland. Temps down there per the weather wiget he sent us are in the 80-110 range (That's "F") in case anyone wishes to visit him.

Not DX, but over the last several weeks 10 has opened up in the evening until around 11-12pm in about 700-1000 miles from Oklahoma, not every evening but quite a few of them. Like shooting snakes in a barrel making contacts.
