Default The 10 Minute Tech Portable Patio

I knocked this little project together in about an hour today. Total cost $21 since I already had some deck screws lying around. Materials are 3 each 10ft deck planks and 2 each 2x2x10'

Got the Idea out of 10 Minute Tech. It's basically 4 panels, each about 18" x 24" In the book they link them together with "screen door hook and eye" latches. I might do that later. When I paint the deck on the house this summer I may paint these, too.

I had enough wood to make 5 panels. The 5th is made of all the "less than desirable" pieces and that will stay at home in the yard to keep the door mat up off the ground.

I guess you could make as many of these as you can haul and pave your whole campsite if you wanted to! Of course they'll work a lot better on smooth ground, which I ain't got.

Here's another use for the portable patio. A movable sidewalk to the trailer so we don't track in as much grass, leaves and dirt. And they don't seem to do a lot of damage to the grass, such as it is this time of year.

Came in real handy in patio mode when we got three straight days of rain at Red Top Mountain S.P. (GA) last weekend. Nice to have a little island that's a few inches above the mud.

And here's yet another use I figured out while in a 3 day thunderstorm marathon on Savage Island...a portable dock. Not deck, dock! All I needed was a canoe!

Default Where's the canoe?

Looks like 'paradise island' kind of thing. You brought 'paradise' with you, but it turned into an island.
