Welcome and your unit looks very similar to W5LJD's Unit.

I got to let him know we are here.

AE5BI, I just looked at your web site and noticed you mentioned monitoring 146.52. How often to you contact anyone on that frequency when on the road? I took a 1,200 mile trip over two days and monitored .52 for about 8 hours and CQ'd a couple of hundred times and had zero contacts. I know the rig was working since I made contact on several repeaters while underway.

I think we need to encourage the use of .52 and get every ham/RVer to use it often. I'm thinking of putting a sticker on my RV with 145.52. My license plate on the RV and the toad have my call sign (in Texas you can have exactly the same plate on mutliple vehicles for Radio Operators). I'll try that on my next trip and let you all know what happens.

Default 146.52

Never.

But, "Never give up, never surrender."

I continue to monitor 146.52 and furthermore, call CQ occasionally. So please respond if you ever hear me. This plan only works if we all use it.

As a subtile hint...we have an entire 146.52 forum here on ORR.net...so we are all for monitoring .52 especially when RVing
